SMOOTH EDGE

Consist of a 1.22mm long and 25mm wide wooden batten with a number of spikes projecting at a 60 slant. This comes in a box of 100 sticks and is available from Carpet Time in a box, per stick or per lineal meter as needed.

The battens are nailed to the floor around the entire room, end to end and 1/4 inch from the skirting, with the spikes facing toward the wall. The spikes grip the backing of the carpet to hold it in place.

Any damp sealed concrete floors will need the smooth edge glued with special adhesives before the lay date.
